The 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, Nevada is finally underway and Project-JK is here live to bring you the all the hottest news and information that you're going to want to know about. On Monday, September 29th, Mopar held an exclusive press conference called the Trail Initiative where they announced some really big news - they will now be selling a 4.5" long arm kit under the branding Jeep Off Road Technology or ORT for short. And more specifically, this lift kit will be a repackaged Rubicon Express 4.5" long arm kit. And, in addition to getting involved in the aftermarket suspension industry, Mopar will also develop other performance products such as transfer case upgrades, performance axles and air intake systems. Special thanks goes to Capture Live for making our daily coverage of SEMA possible.

BIG NEWS EVERYONE!! I just got out of an exclusive MOPAR press conference entiteled 'Trail' Initiative and was informed that MOPAR itself will now be selling not just a lift kit for the very first time in its long history, but a 4.5" long arm kit at that!!

1st Annual Project-JK Anza Borrego
Coyote Canyon Newbie Run 2007

October 16th, 2007

Although our recent run up the Anza Borrego Coyote Canyon Trail was supposed to be a basic 'newbie run' designed to get people new to Jeeps and the sport of off-roading out on the trail, I think it's safe to say that this trip was anything but. At least, with 14 Jeep JK Wranglers in our group, 12 of which were modified to some degree and only three of the drivers new to Jeeps and/or off roading, pretty much the only thing really new about this run was some of the faces that joined us for the ride. But hey, whatever it takes to get people out it's all good by me.

Full-Traction Jeep JK Wrangler
4″-6″ Long Arm Suspension Systems

October 06th, 2007

Full-Traction 4"- 6" JK Long Arm Suspension Systems Our competition is not ready for this system, but your Jeep JK Wrangler is. Our new 4"- 6” long arm systems are a complete replacement suspension. Able to handle tires up to 37" tall, it utilizes a 4-link front axle mounting configuration for a true and correct caster curve, and improved anti-dive geometry throughout the entire range of linear wheel travel - just like the factory does it. Other systems using radius arms, medium length arms called "long arms" and the rest, can't match it's performance.

Pro Comp ACCU PRO Jeep JK Wrangler
Speedometer & Odometer Calibrator

October 04th, 2007

Unlike previous Jeep Wranglers that had a simple gear in the transfer case that you could change out with ease, the all new JK Wrangler is completely computer controlled now and calibrating it's speedometer and odometer to match any tire taller than 32" or a gear ratio any higher than 4.10 was virtually impossible. That is, at least until now anyway.

Thanks to the guys over at 4 Wheel Drive Hardware who just sent me the Pro Comp ACCU PRO, I was able to accurately calibrate both the speedometer and odometer on my Jeep JK Wrangler that is currently running 315/70R17's (approximately a 35x12.50) Pro Comp Xtreme M/T's and Superior 5.13 gears. And, if I had an automatic, the ACCU PRO would have also instantly corrected the computer controlled shift points as well.

AIR LIFT 1000 Air Springs Installation Write-Up

October 02nd, 2007

As much as I love doing short day trips up hard core trails, I have to say that my real love for Jeeps comes from the fact that they allow me to see and explore all the wonderful places this great country has to offer. And, when you load up your Jeep as much as I do to go on multi-day wheeling/camping trip with the entire family, the rear end of your Jeep JK Wrangler will sag considerably and in some cases, measurably enough to be an issue on and off the trail. Certainly, on the trail, sagging will cause a loss of ground clearance and on pavement, sagging will cause your head light beams to shine high and into the eyes of on coming traffic. So how does one go about solving a problem like this? Install a set of Air Lift 1000 air springs.
