Project-JK Twin Peaks Trail Run VIDEO

July 13, 2008 wayoflife 0

So I was watching my favorite TV personality, Todd Offenbacher (a real hoot to watch), on the local Tahoe RSN channel when I saw a piece he did featuring a local wheeling spot that was right here in the South Lake Tahoe basin. Apparently, this area was called Twin Peaks and was just minutes away from the Y (where highway 50 and 89 split off) and if you can believe it, in all the years that I have been coming to Lake Tahoe, I can honestly say that I had never heard of this place.

Project-JK Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2008
Day 4 – Canyonlands Elephant Hill Trail

June 25, 2008 wayoflife 2

This Project-JK Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2008 YouTube video represents the final installment of our EJS adventures and is of our Day 4 run across the Elephant Hill Trail. Located south of Moab in Canyonlands National Park, Elephant his is by far one of the most beautiful trails you can run in the Moab area and is a must see for anyone visiting the area. You will have to pay a small entrance fee in order to get in the park but trust me, it’s worth every penny. The Elephant Hill Trail itself isn’t very difficult but there are a few sections along the way that have big enough rocks and ledges to negotiate that will give a stock Jeep some trouble and is most likely why it gets a “most difficult” rating. The trail is run as a loop and I would highly recommend that you take the time to hike the 1/2 mile trail out to the Confluence Overlook as the view is simply breathtaking.

The Rock 5 Event at Area BFE

April 29, 2008 wayoflife 3

“The Rock” is an annual off-roading event that Superior Axle & Gear and Full Traction Suspension puts on over at Area BFE during Moab Easter Jeep Safari and it’s something that I look forward to attending every year. Although the weather this time around was less than stellar (it was freezing cold), this year’s The Rock V still provided us with a fun filled day, good food, lots of friends and as always, great wheeling on the Green Day Trail. And, with the exception of one TJ that took a dump towards the end of the trail, everyone managed to come back from our run relatively damage free.

Day 3 – Kane Creek Trail Sunset Run

April 7, 2008 wayoflife 5

This latest Project-JK Moab Easter Jeep Safari 2008 YouTube video is of a sunset run that we did up the Kane Creek on Day 3 and is in fact the second run we did that day. Earlier in the day, we attended the Superior Axle and Full Traction Suspension – The Rock V event which was held over at Area BFE and did a run up Green Day. But, being that the last video of Steel Bender was on the long side and of a harder trail, we felt that it would be nice to mix things up a bit and put this easier and more scenic run in between the two.

Day 2 – Steel Bender Trail

March 28, 2008 wayoflife 10

As luck would have it, our first morning in Moab was met with freezing cold temperatures and steady snow still falling from the storm that followed us in the day before. And, while there was a bit of a break in the weather as we headed into town for some breakfast, the forecast still called for more snow later in the day and so we decided to do our first official Project-JK Easter Jeep Safari 2008 run up Steel Bender with both the top and doors on. Unfortunately for us, Jen (toad) and Jeff (Bullfrog) had other obligations they needed to attend to that day so the only people that would be going on this run would be Jason (SDMF), Cindy (WOLette) and I.

Project-JK Lockwood Miller Jeep Trail Run 06-16-07

June 24, 2007 wayoflife 6

With 14 Jeep JK Wranglers (about a 50/50 split between 2-doors and 4-doors), 3 TJ Wranglers and even a Mitsubishi Montero Sport along for the ride, this Project-JK run up Lockwood Creek Miller Jeep Trail was by far the biggest turnout we’ve had for an outting to date. And, without a doubt, it was by far one of the best ones we’ve had as well.
