Situated between Body Snatcher and the Golden Staircase, Double Whammy is an optional obstacle on the Golden Spike Trail that is known for breaking axles, drive shafts, ring and pinions and on occasions, for rolling Jeeps onto their lids.
Chewy Hill (sometimes referred to as “Which Way”) is the second major obstacle on the Pritchett Canyon Jeep Trail but the first that you have to take on as there are no bypasses.
Rocker Knocker is without question one of the most famous obstacles on the Pritchett Canyon Jeep Trail in Moab, Utah. Essentially a huge set of ledges with a sandy base to make things slick, this obstacle typically requires big horse power or a careful line that will push your Jeep to the edge of flopping on its side.
After taking on a considerable amount of damage to both passenger side doors on Moby a couple of years back, Cindy and decided to replace them with a set of Rugged Ridge half doors.
As about as soon as you start the Gold Bar Rim Trail out in Moab, Utah, you’ll come across a challenging slickrock hill known as, Improbable Hill.
The day after we got home from Moab, our good friends Tony and Stephanie came up to visit and spend some time with Cindy and I. Of course, a visit to our neck of the woods wouldn’t be complete without visiting at least one of the many malls we have in the area and the following are photos from the fun we had at Bronco Canyon.
As much as Cindy and I love Moab, attending the annual Easter Jeep Safari was just becoming way too much work for us and far from being the fun that it used to be. After all, we got into Jeepin to get away from the crowds – not to surround ourselves with them. So, a couple of years ago, we decided that we’d still make regular treks out to Moab but we’d do it off season and when there weren’t so many people out there.
Out on the Cliffhanger Jeep Trail in Moab, Utah, there’s an obstacle immediately after you cross Kane Springs Creek and there’s two ways you can take it.
For those of you who’ve never run Cliffhanger out in Moab, there’s a steep set tightly stacked ledges that look and feel a lot like stairs and it’s something that you have to descend the moment you start the trail.
Out in Moab, there’s a trail known as Cliffhanger and as the name suggests, there’s a length of it that has you driving along the edge of a thousand foot cliff.
Cindy and I got out to Moab just ahead of the 50th Annual Easter Jeep Safari and got a chance to test out the new Cooper Discoverer STT Pro tires that we recently installed on Rubicat, our Jeep JK Wrangler and out on the Behind the Rocks trail.
This is far from being anything special but on our way out to Moab, we decided to take a side route through Capitol Reef to explore the backcountry off road trails out in the Cathedral Valley.
