UCONNECT And Voice Recognition Operation
DISCUSSION:
On 2007 Sebring and Nitro vehicles, the Voice Recognition and U-CONNECT selections
for RES and REQ (RET and REL International radios) radios will only work if the vehicle is
equipped with the factory installed Uconnect Hands-Free feature (sales code RSP).
On 2007 Model year Wranglers vehicles, the Voice Recognition and U-CONNECT
selections for RES and REQ (RET and REL International radios) radios will not work
because these vehicles do not offer the factory installed Uconnect Hands-Free feature
(sales code RSP). Do not replace radios on Wranglers because these function do not
work.

I have recently purchased a Grand Cherokee Limited promised with the safe u connect system. Seems it didnt work so the dealer thought that proving me with a normal bluetooth arrangement would work. I see all the above and understand they have had problems but how do they get to this point (years later) and still not have this fixed. I am not happy with a system that doesnt deliver what I paid for. Does anyone else have this problem with the late 09 model or is it just me?
Just purchased used 08 nitro. wasnt really concerned with the bells and whistles but after getting straight with everything else, was disappointed to read
“not equipped with uconnect” ON DISPLAY, BOGUS! replace buttons with blank slugs then. my wife, truck was for her, was very disappointed as was i. Im a nissan man myself, but was plesantly surprised with nitroride and power,etc , just typical how they
