If you’ve already got your Jeep JK Wrangler sitting on top of 35″ or 37″ tires and have been enduring the sluggish pain of running stock gears, you’ll be happy to know that I just got word from Superior Axle & Gear that their 4.88 and 5.13 Gears are shipping out today and I should add, just in time for the 2007 Moab Easter Jeep Safari!!! Need I say, if you haven’t already placed an order for the new gears you’re JK is desperately crying for, do it now before the inital supply of them runs dry. And, if you’ve already got your order in and have just been waiting for them to be delivered, you had better schedule an appointment with your shop before they get too booked up.

FYI: Superior Axle & Gear products can be purchased at 4Wheel Drive Hardware, Northridge4x4 and Quadratec and if you’re in the SoCal neck of the woods, I know for a fact that Off Road Evolution placed a large order of Superior Jeep JK Wrangler gears and was told that they will have a good amount of them in stock. Also, if you’re looking for someone to install your new gears, Off Road Evolution really is one of the best shops in town and have more experience working on Jeep JK Wranglers than any one else I know in this area.
Hello, this is my first post. And i am looking a a JK with 35 inch tires on it, and i was wondering if i added 4.88 gears to the axles if i would go back to getting around 19 hiway miles per gallon, like the JK does in stock forum.
Thank you for your time ryan.
regearing will definitely help things out but only to a limited extent. once you start modifying your jeep with bigger tires, you need to expect some mpg loss.

3in lift 2Dr Rubicon 08, There have been many post on the modified forum concerning gear replacemnts, from the stock 4.11 up to the 4.88 and the 5.13. If I’m only going to put 35in tires on, would 5.13 be Ok? or would you recommend the 4.88 what back spacing would I need on new wheels?
Thanks you for all the help you have given on the JK site.
i would recommend 5.13’s especially if you have an auto.
