Chrysler Finally Agrees to Honor Their Warranty

victory1For those of you who’ve been following my recent fight with Chrysler regarding fuel spraying out of the filler port during re-fueling and getting it fixed under warranty, I’m happy to announce that I have finally WON!! Just a few minutes ago, I got a call from Scott, a case manager over at the Chrysler Customer Assistant Center and from what I was told, my dealership will be given the green light to have the warranty work performed. While I am happy to hear that I’ve won yet another battle with Chrysler, I will say that I am still very frustrated that I had to fight them at all.

If there’s anyone at Chrysler reading this now, you guys really need to re-examine how you handle warranty claims and how your dealerships are allowed to flag a vehicle and effectively void its entire warranty over a single issue. The fact that dealerships can do this without warning and without any accountability is just wrong.

  1. Congratulations!

I agree 100% with everything you said about them re-examining how warranty claims are handled but at least this time they did the right thing.

  2. Not a fan of the dealership, only my second time here (1st was when I purchased the JK) but they “are” fixing the fuel overflow issue. I’m surprised that try did not blame the issue on mud tires or the hi lift on the hood… Lol

  3. Stopped by the stealership today. Only took about 5 min to answer some questions and now I just have to wait for the part to come in. It was surprisingly easy. Let’s see how easy the rest of the process goes

  4. The dealership in Fresno CA is the worst place I have ever been. ( and I have been to Hell) All they ever would said is that I lifted my Jeep and that is why I have problems. Even when the airbag Light came on they said it was because I lifted it. Come ON ! They take the joy out of the whole Jeep thing. In fact, I will Never buy another new one again. The Happiest day was when the warranty ran out.

  5. Hey if you guys don’t mind me asking, what is it that causes this? I hate when I go to fill up and a pretty gal be behind me then gas just spits out!!!

  6. Good for you!! I just went through battle (with Chrysler) also and WON!! These dealerships are awful and don’t seem to be regulated by Chrysler, especially when it comes to warranty and service.

  7. Could you please post the fix for this or what was done/parts replaced? I have had my 2007 JK since day one and it has done this since the first time I filled it and got the run around even while I was under warranty. They said they couldn’t replicate the scenario… which is BS because it does it every other fill up.

  8. I filed a case with Chrysler to have my warranty reinstated. I took my car to the dealership when it was due, but because the dealership uses a “Lube Express Lane” program for oil changes, the software did not cross reference with the Powertrain Inspection. Less, a costumer care employee, said my request was denied because I did not take the car for repairs. If I had taken the car for repair, it would of shown on the system that the inspection was due. I did not take it for repair because nothing in the car was broken! I have called costumer service multiple times to get the contact information of their superiors but they do not provide it. Please someone help me on how to go forward!
