Instructions
|
|
Here’s a pic of all the things you will get with your new Pro Comp ACCU PRO Speedometer & Odometer Calibrator. |
|
1. Insert the CD ROM that you will get with your Pro Comp ACCU PRO into your computer and install the Tuner Software that comes on it. Then, use the USB cable that comes with the kit to connect your ACCU PRO to your computer, run the Tuner Software and carefully follow the step by step instructions it gives you. During this process, the Tuner Software will go online and will look for any firmware updates that the ACCU PRO needs to install. |
|
2. Insure that the tires on your Jeep JK Wrangler are properly inflated. Then, using a tape measure and a straight egde placed on top of one of your tires, measure what the actual height of it is as shown in this pic. NOTE: After doing this a couple of times, I have found that simply measuring from the ground to the shoulder edge on top your tire will give you a more accurate measurement. |
|
3. Climb inside your Jeep JK Wrangler, make sure your parking brake is set, insert your key into the ignition and then turn it to the RUN position but DO NOT start the engine itself. |
|
4. Connect the programming cable to your ACCU PRO and to your Jeep JK Wrangler’s OBDII diagnostics port which is located under the driver side dash as shown in this pic. NOTE:
During the ENTIRE programming process, it is very important that you DO NOT remove or disturb the programming cable. The only time you should remove the cable from your Jeep JK Wrangler’s OBDII diagnostic port is when the ACCU PRO informs you that the installation has been completed.
It is also very important that you DO NOT leave your Jeep JK Wrangler during the programming process. |
|
5. Once everything has been plugged in, the ACCU PRO programmer will display specific instructions for you to follow on its screen and you can make the appropriate selections needed by using the UP/DOWN and YES/NO buttons on the side of it. And, when you are prompted with the following message:Â TO ENTER PROGRAMMER MODE, PRESS Y TO EXIT PROGRAM,
PRESS NPress the “Y” button to enter the programmer mode. |
|
6. Your ACCU PRO should now be prompting you with the following message:Â IF TIRE HEIGHT HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM ORIGINAL, PRESS Y IF TIRE HEIGHT HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED, PRESS NPress the “Y” button and then use the ARROW buttons on the ACCU PRO to enter in the actual tire height of your new tires (the ACCU PRO will allow you to enter in a measurement that is accurate to a 1/4″). Then, press the “Y” button again to select it. |
|
7. Your ACCU PRO should now be prompting you with the following message:Â IF REAR AXLE RATIO HAS BEEN CHANGED FROM ORIGINAL, PRESS Y
IF REAR AXLE RATIO HAS NOT BEEN CHANGED, PRESS NIf you are still running stock gears, press the “N” button at this time. If you have upgraded your gears to 4.88’s or 5.13’s like I have, press the “Y” button now and use the ARROW buttons on the ACCU PRO to locate the gear ratio you are currently running on your Jeep JK Wrangler. Then, press the “Y” button again to select it. |
 |
8. The ACCU PRO will now scroll across its screen the tire size and gear ratio you have selected and if the information is correct, press the “Y” button to begin the programming of your Jeep JK Wrangler’s computer. If it’s not correct, press the “N” button to start over again. The ACCU PRO will notify you when it is finished programming your Jeep JK Wrangler’s computer. When it does and ONLY when it does, you may disconnect it from the OBDII diagnostics port. |
 |
That’s it, you’re done. Your Jeep JK Wrangler’s speedometer and odometer should now be calibrated to match the tire size and gear ratio you are currently running and they should both be reading correctly now. Please let me know if you have any questions. |

Hi, I have a 4d jk diesel will this product work.
thanx
i don’t know for sure. you should try contacting hypertec directly as they should be able to assist you.
thanx
I just purchased a 2008 Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon with 35″, 4.10’s, Automatic, WITH ONLY 2100 miles on it!!
BUT, the prior owner did not re-calibrate. So, i went to 4 Wheel Parts and picked an Accu Pro for $200.00. YES it does work, took a total of 10 minutes from loading software, receiving the update, hooking up and updating my tire size.
The cost was well worth the $200 if you have an automatic.
Does the feature for an automatic transmission shift points/throttle only work for gear changes, or will it also impact the shifting by changing the tire size only? I have 4.10 gears and am not planning regear with 35″ tires.
the accu pro only adjusts your speedometer/odometer based on your tire size and gear ratio. your shift points are apparently guided by the accuracy of your speedo so, so long as you get this on right, you should be where you want to be.
Any word on a new version of this product? I just looked around and no one has one available for 2010 Jeeps – only ford and lincoln. Would also be open to comparable products.
I have a 2000 Jeep Wrangler TJ, had 4WP change from 3.07 to 4.10 R&P. They changed the speedo gear in the NP231 and Speedo works fine. Now I’m swapping the NP231 for a NP241 and the NP241 doesn’t use a gear. Can the 2000 Jeep TJ computer also be reprogramed to correct my R&P and larger tires?
oh man, that’s a good question and one that i don’t know for sure but, i’d be willing to bet, no.
Well, if the 2000 Wrangler computer can’t be reprogramed, my next choice is an interface module. I see there are several choices, any feed back on the best one??? The hypertech look good, plugs in line to the speedo, I like that feature, but not sure if it fits the 2000 Wrangler (phone them tomorrow). Dakota Digital has one, the price is good, looks like wiring is up to the installer, anyone used one of these???? Superlift also has one, Truspeed, looks similar to the Dokota, but twice the price, any feed back on this unit????? Thanks
2007 JK Wrangler X | 3.8L Engine
Thanks for posting this blog and keeping it around. I upgrade my tires a while back and was wondering how to make these adjustments. So I spent the money to get the programer. It was easy to use and I didn’t have any issues reprograming the controller. It’s a little pricey but it’s worth it seeing is how it can also read diagnostic and trouble codes.
The only thing I noticed was after pressing the “Yâ€? button to begin the programming (step 8) the programmer says “reading onboard computerâ€? … “turn to engine to run and hit the “Yâ€? button to programâ€?. It then finishes programing and tells the user to disconnect.
If there are any updates I’ll post again.
Thanks
hi, i bought a jk rubicon 2.8 diesel this year and i want to install 35″ tyres. Does the accu pro work with the diesel motor?
thanks
Hello this program sounds like wat I need to correct my speed problems.
I also have one question what can I do to increase my fuel mileage
I have bought my jeep from a local dealer set up with 33 tires and a 4″ lift.
Its is a 2011 jeep limit 4 door I am getting 13 miles to to gallion, how can I increase my mileage please advise?
Thank you
calibrating your speedometer will help as your shift points will be corrected. running street tires will help a lot as well. BTW, 4″ is a LOT of lift for just 33″ tires especially being that you can practically run them without any lift.
