Ever since Cindy and I started running a set of 37×13.50R17 Cooper Discoverer STT Pro M/T tires on Rubicat, our 2012 Jeep JK Wrangler, we knew we had to have them in a set of 40’s.
After being away from home for almost 2 weeks, it was time for us to finally head for home. Unfortunately, a storm was coming in and the winds ahead of it were clocking in at over 70 MPH.
While pushing the center line of your wheels further out will help you to run bigger tires and without rubbing issues, you do it at the expense of increasing your scrub radius and at the cost of putting more stress on your ball joints, wheel bearings and even tie-rod.
Over the past week, Cindy and I went running around the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center and took tons of pics of all the cool Jeeps, trucks, cars and products at the 2016 SEMA Show.
It took a better part of the weekend but Cindy and I were eager to get our new 40″ Cooper Discoverer STT Pro Tires mounted on our ATX Chamber Pro II bead lock wheels and installed on Moby as soon as we could and man, do they ever look GREAT! As was the case last year, the show was absolutely packed full of vehicles and I’d have to say that SEMA is really starting to look and feel like it had about 10 years ago. In fact, there were so many Jeeps at the show that I have no doubts that there were more than a few we missed in spite of our best efforts to capture all of them.
