Turtle Ridge on Drummond Island, Michigan was one of the last off road parks we got to play in during the 2012 Off Road Evolution JK-Experience, presented by Nitto and, unlike much of what we had been playing in all week, this place had rocky ledges you could climb.

With this knowledge in hand, Mel Wade of Off Road Evolution asked us to join him on the Rubicon Trail to give this iconic obstacle, one final run. And, on Saturday, September 28, 2012, that’s exactly what he did, completely unassisted and in the very same 4-door Jeep JK Wrangler that he used to conquer it 3 years before. In this short video, you will get to see raw footage of his run with limited edits and no music so that you can the full experience of just how challenging the Little Sluice really was.

Redbird in Indiana was the first off road park we got to play in during the 2012 Off Road Evolution JK-Experience, presented by Nitto and, as luck would have it, Hurricane Isaac just got done dumping 6� of rain before we got there.

Born and raised in Southern California, our idea of off-roading has always been about exploring the wide open desert, high mountain peaks and crawling over big rocks. Of course, there is really is so much more to off-roading than just that and, thanks to the Off Road Evolution JK-Experience, presented by Nitto Tire, we got a chance to experience for ourselves how the Heartland of America plays!
