If there’s been one mod for my Jeep JK Wrangler that I’ve just been dying to get my hands on, it would have to be a really nice set of steel tube fenders. Unfortunately, that day isn’t here just yet but after a long conversation that I had with PUREJEEP today, I can tell you that a production set has been completed and is currently installed on the Off Road Evolution JK. Of course, what good would a teaser post be without some pics, right? Well, I was able to get my hands on a few spy shots and if you want to see them, all you need to do is click on the banner above or on the link below:
PUREJEEP Jeep JK Wrangler Steel Tube Fender Teaser Pics
Now, while the trail tough 1.5″x.120 steel tube construction with a fully welded on 10 ga. sheet of metal cover is impressive to me, I’d have to say that the super clean design and extreme attention to detail is what really blew me away about these fenders. Specifically, I was amazed that PUREJEEP was able to manufacture a set of fenders that could fluidly hug the curved body lines of the JK and at the same time, follow the huge 100″ radius of the fender openings without having to use a single angle to do the job. Apparently, this is a huge pain in the rear to do but by doing this, PUREJEEP has clearly separated themselves from the pack and has become the only manufacturer capable of creating a set of tough steel tube fenders that have a deliberate factory look and one that is truly esthetically appealing.
Just so you know, I should be getting more details regarding price, availability and finishing options very soon so be sure to check back.
Eddie
xenon or pure jeep fenders?
Bro, Those are metal not plastic!
Hey javier, as justrok pointed out, the Xenon flares are just plastic like the factory set. These are steel and will offer you protection in addition to looking great. 🙂
Eddie
Very cool, but I think I’ll hold out for the REV111 versions. Although they’re taking their sweet time getting them out for us.
rev111 verisons are ok but from what i can tell the purejeep ones have a better covage on top
cant wait to get my hands on them
Awesome! Great design. I cant wait to get a set!
Where are mine dammit, not another item to wait for again,
pfft
Just remember that DC made our plastic fenders to be able to “pop” off in case of a roll. Those metal ones look like they would do some serious damage to your body if you rolled it on the side. Just a something to consider. Ours are designed to be flimsy. I would much rather have a rock rip my plastic ones off then it crushing the metal ones into my body.
I disagree. I have seen rocks rip plastic fenders and more times than not, it does damage to your body as well. Now, I have also seen good tube fenders take a real beating on the trail and without doing any damage to the body. This is because the force is distributed along the entire fender and the lenght of the body.
Eddie
They’re lovely, but they don’t fit the rear bumper. PJ has to design some lighter version of the rear bumper. this one is just too massive.
Well, now that you mention it, you just might get your wish. Keep an eye out for our SEMA coverage this year 😉
Eddie
It would be great. I have a European version with awful bumpers. I’m currently looking for stock (US) bumpers for replacement, but reading what you wrote, I might want to wait. I’d love to have those tube fenders along with nice matching bumpers. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the PureJeep designers and of course I’ll stay tuned.

Hoping for a textured black to match my Shrockworks stuff.
Where can I order a set of these Fenders and how much do they cost?
Hi tgrt, I’m not 100% sure but I’m pretty sure these will be available in powder coat black and bare steel so that you can do what you want with them.
Tshuelsman, these fenders are not available for sale as of yet and pricing is still unknown at this time.
Eddie
Its been what seems like years… i want these fenders… any word on the release date?
They are supposed to be released by SEMA but I don’t know that for sure.
Eddie
Does anyone know when these will be ready to purchase? I have been waiting for these to show up on the web site since I saw the teaser pics in July.
OK- These are at the top of my MOST WANTED list! I sure hope they price them right. Judging by the prices of their other items, I’m betting these will be priced just right.
any update on this? Are they still going to make these?
Yes, these are still coming. PJ went through some management changes towards the end of last year and so things got pushed back until they could reorganize is all.
These fenders look freakin cool. I want them now! Where do I buy them?
I want these! Bad!!!
Any new news on these???
Spoke with pure jeep today. The mentioned that they are not sure they will mass produce the fenders. Maybe they will have an answer next month….
are these out yet?!
unfortunately – no
So……….when do you think they will be on the market?
Is PJ going to manufacture these?
Are they selling those tube fenders yet. They look great, but when are they going to sold to the public. How much for frt and rear? This is clearly the best looking fenders for my 07 JK 2 door…
Do they relocate the factory bulb that exists on the plastic fender?
i like the looks of these, they are very clean looking. i have a pure jeep rear bumper and tire carrier and also there molded to the body side rails with built in steps.they are great quality product…however,it does not look like to me from the pictures that they made provisions in there design to accomadate the type of pure jeep rocker rails that i have, only the kind shown in the picture that do not tie into the body up high on the side of the fender. i hope i am wrong and that the pictures are deceiving and they will work with all of pure jeeps rock rails..eddy, if you can, could you find out as i am sure i am not the only one who has these style rock rails.
does anyone know where you can purchase the pure jeep tube fenders? I looked on the pure jeep website and nothing on them.
From Pure Jeep (purejeep.com) 800-255-6464 I already put my order in.
You want plastic or at the least attatched with/to plastic like the factory JK fenders. They are designed to break off in the event of a roll over or other major contact so the force will not damage your jeeps body. Much easier/chaeper to replace a fender than repair metal body damage.
I am going with the Xenon fenders myself.
are these fenders available ? and where ? part numbers ?
thks
there’s no turning signal on those flat fenders, they can’t be legal?
