    Was that the axle tube that split? How did that happen?

    yes, that was the axle tube and it literally shattered in half and it happend after hitting a small rock driving down a sandy wash. certainly, nothing that should have resulted in a break like this. by the looks of it, the steel looked like it was too brittle or something. for what it’s worth, i have heard of 3 people who had this happen to them and all were from early 2007 JK’s.
