Project-JK Anza Borrego Desert South Coyote Canyon 03-03-07

After spending the better part of our day at the 2007 Tierra Del Sol Desert Safari show in Ocotillo Wells, Clint (aka - CLACKEY573), his son Cameron and my family decided to make a sunset run up to Sheep Camp which is located at the end of the South Coyote Canyon Trail.
Unfortunately, the lack of rain we've had this winter had left the trail completely barren of the otherwise technicolor landscape we should have seen about this time of year and the three water crossing (the 3rd of which can be quite deep on some years) were little more than shallow puddles. But, I'm happy to say that the rocky climb up to the valley above was still a lot of fun and we found a nice couple in an X-Terra, Terry and Kari to join us for the rest of the run.
One thing I'd really like to point out about this trip is that it was the 2nd time that I've seen a Sahara go everywhere that my Rubicon with TeraFlex 2.5" Budget Boost went and without any problems. Kinda makes me wonder sometimes why I kicked down the extra cash for something I may not have needed.
