Seat Glovers Jeep JK Wrangler
Custom Neoprene Seat Covers

Jeep JK Wrangler PUREJEEP Crawler Stubby Front Bumper

Above and beyond the fact that the Jeep JK Wrangler is by far one of the most capable off-road vehicles to ever be made, its ability to be driven both topless and doorless truly makes it one of the coolest vehicles ever made as well. And, if you’re anything like me, driving my Jeep topless and doorless is the option of choice and something I try to do as often as possible.

Of course, open air entertainment doesn’t come without its consequences and left exposed to the elements, your factory seat are in for a real beating. Heck, general wear and tear from continuous use is reason enough for me to recommend some kind of upholstery protection and that’s why I would highly recommend that you pick up and install a set of high quality seat covers much like the kind Seat Glovers make.

Unlike generic seat covers available on the market today, the Seat Glovers seat covers are custom designed and specifically taylor made to fit the seats of the Jeep JK Wrangler like a glove. And, being that they are both affordable and easy to install, this really is a great mod that every Jeeper should take advantage of today.

Instructions

1. Begin the installation of your new Seatglovers seat covers by positioning your Jeep JK Wrangler front seat backs in a forward position. Then, remove the head rests by pushing on the release buttons and pulling straight up as shown in this pic. 2. Install the upper half of your Seat Glovers seat cover onto your Jeep JK Wranglers front seat backs as shown in this pic. 3. If your JK came with side impact air bags, make sure that the side flaps on the seat covers are located facing out.
4. With the Seat Glovers upper half installed, grab the front base of it and shove it through to the back of your Jeep JK Wrangler’s front seats as shown in this pic. 5. Go to the back side of your Jeep JK Wrangler’s front seat and pull the base of the Seat Glover upper half all the way through. 6. Fold up the base of the Seat Glovers upper half and secure the velcro strip to the inside back as shown in this pic.
7. Begin installing the lower half of your Seat Glovers lower front seat covers by shoving the plastic buckles attached to the back edge through your Jeep JK Wranglers front seats as shown in this pic. 8. Grab the sides of your Seat Glovers lower half and wrap it around the base of your Jeep JK Wranglers front seats and tucked behind the adjustment handles. 9. Take the long nylon straps attached to the front of your Seat Glovers lower half edge, route them to the back, clip them into the rear buckles and then cinch them down to create a snug fit.
10. Located on the side edges of your Seat Glovers lower half covers are small hooks attached to an elastic band. Take these hooks, route them underneath your Jeep JK Wrangler’s front seats and either hook them together or find a place on the seat itself to hook on to. 11. Install the Seat Glovers head rest covers onto your Jeep JK Wrangler’s head rests and then secure the velcro edges at the base of it. 12. Reinstall your newly covered front head rests back onto your Jeep JK Wrangler’s front seats.
13. Moving to the rear, fold down the driver side rear bench and then begin installing the upper half of your Seat Glovers seat cover onto the passenger side bench back by first unzipping it and then pulling it over the fixed headrest and bench as shown in this pic. 14. Slip your Jeep JK Wrangler’s rear center shoulder restraint over the Seat Glovers cover and then continue to wrap the cover around the entire bench back. 15. From the back, zip the Seat Glovers upper half together as shown in this pic.
16. Partially fold your Jeep JK Wrangler’s passenger side rear bench so that you can grab and pull through to the back the loose fabric tail attached to the front base of the Seat Glovers upper cover as shown in this pic. 17. Tuck the loose fabric tail up behind the Seat Glovers upper cover and secure it to the velcro strip attached to the back of the cover itself. 18. Shove the passenger side rear seat belt buckles back through your Jeep JK Wranglers rear bench.
19. Now, fold down the passenger rear bench and install the upper half of your Seat Glovers driver side fixed head rest and bench back as shown in this pic. 20. As before, partially fold your Jeep JK Wrangler’s driver side rear bench, pull the loose fabric tail attached to the front base of the Seat Glovers upper cover through to the back and then secure it to the velcro strip attached to the back of the cover itself. 21. Pull the driver side rear seat belt buckle through the Seat Glovers rear upper half cover as shown in this pic.
22. Install the lower half of your Seat Glovers lower rear bench covers by shoving the plastic buckles attached to the back edge through your Jeep JK Wranglers front seats as shown in this pic. 23. Tuck the Seat Glovers lower bench cover around the sides of your Jeep JK Wrangler’s passenger side rear bench as shown in this pic. Then, repeat this process on the driver side bench. 24. Take the long nylon straps attached to the front of your Seat Glovers lower bench cover edge, route them to the back, clip them into the rear buckles and then cinch them down to create a snug fit.

25. As before, locate the small hooks attached to elastic bands on the side of your Seat Glovers lower bench covers, route them underneath your Jeep JK Wrangler’s rear bench and hook them onto the structure of the bench itself. 26. Slip on the Seat Glovers rear headrest covers onto your Jeep JK Wrangler’s rear headrests.

That’s it! Your Jeep JK Wrangler now has a set of seat covers that will protect your factory seats from the elements, are super comfortable and look fantastic. To preserve the color of your Seat Glovers seat covers and keep them looking new, I would highly recommend you spray them down with some 303 Protectant.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Is that the black & tan or the black & grey? I’m thinking black & charcoal would be better for Jeep Green with a Dark Slate interior… What do you think?

    Thanks,
    js.

Hi JS, what you are looking at is the black and tan. As far as what you should go with goes, I would definitely recommend black/charcoal or just all black as that looks really good as well.

Hey Eddie, can you still get to the lower LATCH anchors in the rear seats once the covers are in place? Looks like it, but just want to confirm.

  6. wayoflife July 23rd, 2007 5:36 pm

Hi HDC, yes, the lower latch anchors are still accessible.

I ordered some black & charcoal seat covers from Seat Glovers and have been disapointed — both in the product and especially in Seat Glovers customer service. The fit was average, with many stitches stretching and showing too much thread, and the side impact slit would not close on the driver’s side. The slit on the passenger side stayed closed but looked lumpy. I’ve e-mailed Seat Glovers THREE TIMES now to get an RMA number, but they remain silent, ignoring my e-mails. So be fore-warned before buying anything from them…

Eddie, after reading your write-up I order my set for my JK Unlimited X, I just got my covers in last week, they where extremely easy to install as your said, but more importantly they honored their discount to your web-site customers.
I have gotten so many compliments on the look of my Redrock colored JK with the Red and Black seat covers. People have stopped me all weekend long asking what type of “Car” it was, I smile and politely tell them it’s not a car…..

Love the covers the customer service at Seat Glovers is excellent, I have passed on Project-JK.com’s web site all weekend long to different people looking for more information on the JK.

Thanks for all the information, your doing an excellent job.

    Eddie/Robert,

Based on Robert’s comments, is there any more feedback on the quality of Seat Glovers products in respect to a JK application?

Hi jw, the quality of the new covers that SeatGlovers is selling is actually nicer than the first ones that I got. Just make sure to treat it with the 303 protectant especially if you drive topless as the black will fade if you don’t.

Do they have any additional seat cushioning? While the back seat is definitely more comfortable than previous Wranglers, the back in my Unlimited is still pretty ‘benchy’ compared to the fronts.

Yes, actually they do. in fact, when you sit on them, you will feel a little taller too.
